Merry Monday – Christmas Party Season

I’m sorry. I totally sucked this weekend in regards to blog posts. Christmas Party Season has started and made me rather busy on top of school work.

I saw Star Wars on Friday. I love it despite some seriously WTF moments. The music is fantastic, as usual. There were several awesome combat scenes. I felt like some things came too easy to certain individuals and you’ll know what I mean when you see it. I won’t say anything else because I’m not the spoiler type. I don’t know if I’ll do a lengthy review at some point or not, but maybe.

Also on Friday, I boosted my own car! Life skills leveled up. And then I had to boost it twice more because I couldn’t drive it long enough to charge the battery between getting gas and going to Star Wars. After Star Wars, I drove across town to get Sensei and Sempai some sake. That has brought Pixie back to life so far. The Eliminator boosting thing I got for $99 at Canadian Tire is now my favourite car thing. I feel much more at ease about traveling in the winter.

Saturday was spent on homework and our dojo dinner. I had a premium sake sampler. Many of the shots were rather strong like vodka, but I was feeling pretty good by the time dinner came.

Sunday was the Christmas edition of B-Movie club and I almost really messed up because I had forgotten I was bringing a potluck item. I hurriedly invented a rice stuffing recipe from several Internet recipes. I put the rice in the rice cooker while I showered. It finished shortly after I was done and I rushed to the store to get the rest of the items for the stuffing. We watched the Star Wars Holiday Special and that has to be one of the most painful things I’ve ever seen. I get to try and top it next month.

But I also got to spend time with my little buddy. We chatted about Iron Man, Spider-man, and Star Wars. He walked about with his “phone” which was apparently telling him jokes. He also made sure I knew he is now 4.5 years old and told me tales of the toys he had when he was young. Yes, that’s how he phrased it. Too adorable!

Oh, AND I conquered my hand wash dishes. My kitchen is close to clean!

It was a great weekend 🙂

This week, I’m finishing up a few things before heading off to visit the family. I’m not sure if I will have the second act of my South Park episode written, but I’d like to try. Each assignment I finish early is one less for the last couple weeks of school. My 10-minute play needs a little more work. I talked about it with my teacher today to get ideas on how to make it a little longer. Hopefully I can figure it out.

Off to wrap gifts and do laundry.

Thoughtful Thursday – My First Tablet

thoughtfulI got my first tablet. It’s a Surface Pro 3. I had a lot of difficulty setting it up as it would overheat and turn off in the middle of Windows Updates. It’s a known issue and now that I’m done installing things, I can turn off the thing that causes it, which is the Microsoft installer. I also had trouble because the battery was at zero percent and the cord is made to disconnect easily rather than drag it to the floor and smash it.

I’m also gifted at misplacing the pen that goes with it … In my lap.

I don’t have a case yet, so I will have to be really careful with it. It’s coming. Hopefully I can keep it safe in the meantime.

There are some settings that I need to find like keyboard sound because I really don’t need that on. It’s warm right now doing WordPress, so I’m off to find that windows installer and turn that off.

Once I have the kinks worked out, I think it’s going to revolutionize my writing life.

Merry Monday – New Toys

I have received a new toy, well, it’s more of a medical device, but it’s like a toy for my neck because it brings feelings of not pain. It’s this dense foam wedge that I put under my neck for 10 minutes and after one use, I already feel loads better without pain killers. It wasn’t fun to use as it’s not entirely comfortable to put a bulging disc against it, but after a bit I began to feel things I didn’t expect like a reduction in abdominal discomfort and reduced jaw tension. What a wonderful tool! It’s called the Posture Wedge.

I never thought a bunch of my problems could be connected to my neck and posture. It was after I hurt my neck the first time that things like food allergies and teeth grinding began to appear in my life. What if the inflammation in my body is in part because of this one thing? Seems crazy. I’m not going to get my hopes up, but I’ll definitely keep using the thing and see what happens.

My MS Surface 3 is supposed to come sometime this week. They estimate Friday. I hope it comes sooner, so I can get it set up and stop lugging a heavy bag around.

I’m not bringing much with me today. I think it’s a good idea to use my phone and a small notebook rather than lug a heavy laptop around. It’ll give my neck a break. I wonder if I can try this all this week? I should check with my other teachers.

My parents dug out our old LEGOs for me. I need to figure out how to clean them, but I have a much larger collection now. Not that I have anytime to play with them anyway, but I’m looking forward to it eventually.

Part of my Halloween costume is here. The rest I have to make. If I can ever get the time to…

I snagged an old Walkman from my mom on the weekend to use because I have a couple of books on cassette that I’d like to listen to on the bus at some point from now until Christmas.

Anyway, I need to go learn stuff about writing plays.

Symphonic Saturday – Music Software

music1Now that I’m done with my online course, I have about a month where I can play around with learning LMMS. I expect it will be a while before I try to actively record anything, but I can finally go through the tutorials and hopefully learn the basics. Audio recording packages like this have similar interface designs to some video production software, so it might even help me be prepared for one of my upcoming courses on Basic Video Production.

I can also play my guitar and use Yousician and Rocksmith  to improve my skills with that instrument. I think music is going to be a big focus for me outside of my writing and sewing for the rest of the summer. Also, movies and video games.

Last night, I spent some time working on drum beats on an Android app called Walk Band. The app is limited in that I can only do small sections rather than a whole song, but it lets me play around and try things out, which has its uses. I don’t know if I can import those into LMMS, but at least I’ll know what I want to put into LMMS once I know how to use it. The trumpet add-in doesn’t seem to function, which is disappointing to me, but as I have a real trumpet, I can maybe get my skill back up and record that in a normal way. Drums were the thing I was looking for most.

I’m enjoying playing around with it and am looking forward to seeing where it leads.

Frisky Friday – Combating Frustration and Loneliness

If you’re a fan of X-Men, you probably know a bit about Rogue and her powers. She’s basically like a puritan succubus in that she takes life energy without having to get naked. She’s very strong because her power also gives her the ability to use the power of another mutant for a time. A force to be reckoned with, for sure. But it also means she can’t physically connect with others without possibly killing them. There could be a message in there about the benefits of chastity, but I have no interest in talking about that today or possibly ever.

Think about how sexually frustrated she must be though. I mean there’s the ‘I haven’t had sex in a year or two level’ where you feel like climbing walls, and then there’s Rogue. She’s far from the only superhero that has sexual challenges. Bruce Banner usually hulks out if he gets excited. You can read more here.

Today, technology brings hope to Rogue and others like her. A parody video of an app called Lickster exists and it was supposedly developed to help men perform cunnilingus. There really is an app from CamSoda that works with certain sex toys. It’s called OCast. Men or women can “touch” their partners in a sexual way from a distance. They can even upload their techniques, so people from all over the world can try them out and rate them. Apparently, Tsunami Mami is a popular one.

Women can even give themselves oral through this app either by using it themselves or using the technique uploaded by a stranger. Sex with a stranger is a common sexual fantasy that both men and women have actually, so it may be performing extra services.

PornHub has seized on this and now some of their videos can be synchronized with these devices for an interactive experience.

So, now Rogue doesn’t have to be quite so lonely, though I doubt there is a way to get the full benefits of real connection such as a boost in oxytocin levels. Oxytocin is the hug hormone and it’s important for a lot of things, especially continued propagation of our species and mental health. Now there is apparently a supplement, but supplements are rarely preferred by medical specialists to natural sources. Ultimately, Rogue should probably find an incubus to have naughty time with as perhaps their powers wouldn’t work on each other and they could just have some safe fun together.

But my biggest question is, when will men have a similar interactive toy that simulates blow jobs and can teach women to be better at giving them? When will their toys also respond to PornHub’s interactive videos?

What’s good for the goose…

But I suppose, the need for cunnilingus and blow jobs may reduce altogether as a result of these devices. We may be at the beginning of the change to virtual sex as displayed in Demolition Man so many years ago. I’m still wondering about the seashells.

Have a great weekend whether you choose to celebrate Canada Day tomorrow or not 😉

Salut,
R~
