The Black of My Soul

My soul is ever black.
I wanna let it take over.
My heart aches for the one.
My stomach’s never full.
Ears hope for those words.
Heart is hoping for truth.
Limbs need someone to hold.
Hands and fingers, something to grasp.
Head is ready to blow.
Voices of a hidden conscience.
Just wanna let go.
Sit back and slack.
No more runaround.
Don’t wanna be a letdown.
Stuck in a rut
Going deeper every day.
Like a kick in the gut.
I keep looking for freedom.
Wondering what lies beneath.
Like an over-read book,
the cover’s wearing thin.
Just wanna let go.
Sit back and slack.
No more runaround.
