Wonder Wednesday: Burning Out

I’ve decided to take some time off of writing in June. I’ve not had much of a break in the past few months. I could use a breather before I burn myself out long-term.

What will I do in that time?

1. Geocaching
2. Playing guitar
3. Videogames
4. Clean
5. Garden
6. Visit the folks
7. Practice martial arts
8. Whatever else I feel like. Perhaps date.

My boss announced his retirement a couple of weeks ago. I hear a lot of people say they wouldn’t retire because they’d be bored. I doubt I’ll have trouble keeping busy when I get there. Besides, retiring from office work just means more time to write stories šŸ˜‰

One thing I’m thinking about is getting another pet. Right now, I’m thinking two female mice. I briefly considered a snake, but I just couldn’t feed it cute little mice. Also, I want something cuddly. I’ve been reading about them. They’re fairly low maintenance and easy to leave for a weekend if you have a busy life. I just need to find the best place to buy them in Ottawa. They’re also friendly, squirmy, and silly. I love Winchester, but cuddling with him is bad for his health.

I’m really looking forward to this break. I’m hoping to beat at least one videogame. It’s been a long time since I last beat one. I’m looking forward to getting outside and enjoying the weather too. It’s a great time of year for geocaching and gardening.

I haven’t decided if I’ll take a break from blogging during this breather or not. Perhaps I’ll just write brief updates to say I’m still alive šŸ™‚

It may extend further into the summer, too.

I have tons of things booked for June already:

June 3rd – Roller derby double header
June 4th – Prose in the Park
June 6th – Writer’s Group
June 8th – Submission deadline
June 11th –Ā Dojo BBQ
June 14th – Escape Manor
June 22nd – Paint Nite

I ordered Final Fantasy X for PS3 to kick off my break. It’s the HD version. I’ve never played a Final Fantasy game and felt I need to correct this. This one comes highly recommended. I’ll also continue with Skyrim, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Borderlands 2, and Ni No Kuni. I’m level 5 in Skyrim and level 4 in Borderlands 2 now! I know, that’s not much at all.

July is fairly light and I’m aiming to keep it that way. I want to do summery things and relax.

August is likely when I’ll get miceĀ if I’m going to, but I’ve been looking at the cutiesĀ available, so maybe sooner…

Well, I’m off to work.

Ciao,
R~
